RENOVATIONS
Whether you have plans or need advice, WestCoast Builders can fulfill your exterior or interior renovation needs. One of Don Lindenthaler’s recent experiences in this area includes the total renovation of the Cooper House in Powell River, BC. To achieve the structural integrity, it was necessary to replace all electrical wiring and plumbing. Don worked with the owners to design the renovation plans, changing the structure from the heritage home to a Bed and Breakfast.

BUILDING GREEN
The B.C. Building Code changed on April 15, 2008. The changes for Single Family Houses, Smaller Multi-family houses and smaller Multi-Family Residential, Commercial and Industrial Buildings involve:

• insulation standards
• an EnerGuide rating of 77 can be used as an alternative to meeting insulation requirements OR the use of computer modeling resulting in equivalent performance is an alternative to prescription insulation standards
• ultra low-flow toilets and other water-saving plumbing is mandatory
• new objectives of water and energy efficiency
• changes in the insulation for natural gas-heated buildings
• changes in attic space insulation
